The city is primarily known for having one of California's longest and widest stretches of beach. This stretch of sand is perfect for walking, horseback riding and ATV riding. Golfing is also a popular activity on the three area golf courses. Kayaking along the cliffs can bring a new view of Pismo Beach. Enjoy the 1200-foot Pismo Pier for sightseeing, walking, fishing and seeing the great sunset. Pismo Beach has mild temperatures with average lows in the winter in the 40's and highs in the 60's, and in the summer, average lows in the 50's and high's in the mid-70's to low-80's. Pismo Beach hosts many annual events including a Custom Car Show in June, 4th of July Fireworks, Western days, St. Anthony's Celebration and the Clam Festival. In addition, the city is home to two annual Dixieland jazz festivals. |
